A day trip from Casablanca to Marrakech is a fantastic opportunity to explore one of Morocco’s most iconic cities. Marrakech, known as the “Red City” because of its distinctive red sandstone buildings, is steeped in history, culture, and vibrant markets. Here’s a detailed overview of what you can expect on this exciting day trip:
This full-day excursion takes you from the cosmopolitan city of Casablanca to the culturally rich and historical city of Marrakech. The journey typically takes around 2.5 to 3 hours each way, providing enough time to explore key attractions.
In the morning, we will pick you up from your hotel in Casablanca to start your Marrakech day trip. After two hours of driving, we will reach the Red City for a historical and fun-filled day trip. Our local guide will take you around to give you an idea about the origin of Morocco and the various tribes who lived there. The first attraction is Jamaa El-Fana Square. It used to be a normal central market, but now it’s a tourist attraction with traditional music and dancers, snake charmers, and lots of stalls serving fresh orange juice. The square comes alive towards the afternoon when the restaurant stalls have been set up. Moreover, this place is protected by UNESCO (Cultural Space of Jemaa el-Fana Square). The biggest mosque of Marrakech is just located in front of the square, built around 1147 and with a Minaret over 60m high. Furthermore, the Red City offers other interesting places such as the Gardens of Majorelle, the Ben Youssef Madrasa, El Badi Place, Menara Gardens, and the Bahia Palace. By the evening, we will head back to Casablanca, dropping you off at your hotel.
